Road to Omaha

The 2025 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament is set to captivate fans as the 64-team field is unveiled today, Monday, May 26, at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN2. This annual event determines the national champion through a series of regional and super regional rounds, culminating in the Men’s College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, starting June 13.

Regional Hosts and Top Seeds

The NCAA has announced the 16 regional host sites for the tournament. Notably, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) dominates with eight host sites, tying its own record set in 2023. These host schools include Texas, LSU, North Carolina, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, and Oregon. The full bracket, including team seedings and matchups, will be revealed during the selection show.

Teams on the Bubble

NC State

Despite high expectations, NC State did not secure the ACC title, affecting their chances of hosting a regional. Projections place them as a two-seed, potentially facing tough competition depending on their assigned regional.

Kentucky

The Wildcats’ postseason hopes are uncertain after a 29-24 season and an early exit from the SEC Tournament. Analysts are divided on whether their quality wins are sufficient for a tournament bid.

Teams on the Rise

Ole Miss

Ranked No. 17, Ole Miss concluded its regular season with a crucial series win over Auburn, securing a bye in the SEC Tournament. With a 37-18 overall record and 16-14 in SEC play, the Rebels are positioned on the bubble to host an NCAA Regional. Analysts suggest that one or two wins in the SEC Tournament could elevate Ole Miss into a top-16 seed, securing a home regional.

Arizona

In their first season in the Big 12 Conference, the Arizona Wildcats clinched the conference tournament title, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. This marks their 44th all-time appearance in the tournament.
